ENVIRONMENTAL TESTING

Our home is where we spend the majority of our life. It is crucial to ensure that our houses are not only comfortable, but also free of hazards to the health and safety of our families. Residential environmental testing, or environmental testing, is essential for ensuring the absence of these dangers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What environmental testing does AllCheck offer?

AllCheck offers radon testing, water testing, mold and mildew testing, indoor air quality testing and septic system testing. Each can be booked on its own or added to a Complete Home Inspection.

Which environmental tests should I consider?

It depends on the home. Radon testing is widely recommended across Central Indiana because much of the state is in EPA Radon Zone 1. Water and septic testing matter most for homes on a private well or septic system. Mold and indoor air quality testing are worth considering if there has been water damage, a musty odor, or unexplained allergy symptoms indoors.

Can several tests be done in one visit?

Yes. Environmental tests are routinely scheduled together, and alongside a Complete Home Inspection, so sampling is completed in a single appointment rather than several.

Why does environmental testing matter in Central Indiana?

Much of Indiana, including the Indianapolis metro, sits in EPA Radon Zone 1 – the highest-risk category. Many homes outside the city are also on private wells and septic systems, which are not monitored the way municipal utilities are. Testing is how you find out what is actually happening in a specific home.

How soon do I get results?

Timing depends on the test. Radon testing runs for 48 hours under closed-house conditions before the report is produced, while samples sent for laboratory analysis, such as water and mold, follow the lab’s turnaround.
